Blood Successor
Chapter 2
Death Vision
He guided his overflowing mana up to the sky. Slowly but surely the mana formed a stream line. Not long after the pillar of concentrated mana expanded. He raised his hand and clenched his fist hard. He slammed the earth as hard as he could. The pillar of concentrated mana burst into the sky. A wave of mana spread out in circle; a wave after another. Slowly but surely the lights started to fade as his mana began to deplete.
When he released all his mana, he became unconscious and fell onto the earth. The pain that was burning inside his body began to fade. His vision blurred and he heard a sound of something cracked just before he lost all his senses.

Six giant boulders stood and formed a circle, in the middle of the grassy field. Gentle wind blew slowly, caressing Veremor silver-white hair; clad in soft and light armor with a sword around his waist. He stares at the stone mutely, recalling his memory, of sadness, of darkness, of light, of truth, of fear; he chooses loneliness.
“So, this is it?” he shook his head gently. A flash of sadness runs through his eyes.
He towed out his gloves and leaved them on the grassy ground. He recited a spell. He drew sealing insignia on the air as his finger glows in brilliant pink.
i am here waiting to be destruct, i seal over a thousand seal.
Heed me this once and open the seal.
i have return from the long journey.

Brilliant light rises and lifts the boulders. Inhuman crying and squalling echoed throughout the field. The earth shaking, birds flew away in terror. Green liquid flows out from beneath. Everything the liquid touches decays and death presence.
  “Where do I really belong?”
A dimension door rises from the liquid and begins to take its form. Soon, an angel-like creature walking through the door and step forward to his challenger.
“For what you seek and why you come have?” the creature asked.
“I have come to claim my throne!” he step forward.
“Then you shall speak for who you are!” the creature sprung forward and slashed its axe.
“Blood of demon run through my vein and angel’s wisdom dwells in my mind!” he explained and unsheathes his sword, letting the sharp edge of the axe sliding down at the blunt edge of his sword.
“Then, you shall die!” the creature cry out “tainted soul”

“Hey, watch out!” a woman shouted out. She was pulling a man’s right arm just before he knocked a tree directly in his face.
“Huh?” he question. He stopped and looked at his surrounding and then turned back toward the woman and say “I had a vision just now.”
“Oh, right! Another vision of yours!” she exclaimed “what was it this time? Don’t tell me that you fall over a drain like it was, last time.”
“Hey! It’s never like that! Stop making things up will you?” he was rather bothered.
“So? Spill it out before I slip my mouth again.” She chuckles.
“You’d rather not know it.” His tone was flat and it seems his mind drifted away again.
They were in a forest, the man had silver white hair, clad in soft and light armor, and he had a sword hanging just around his waist; the woman was wearing soft dress and a cape that has a hood attached to it. There was an emerald flute hanging around her waist and it shone in dim green under the moon light.
“It’s dark now. We need to setup a camp.”
“I’m so glad that I can finally rest now. Too bad you had to be a watchman!” she grinned.
“Oh, really?” he question “well something reminds me that you have a pet for this, right?” anger flash through his eyes for a second and it soon disappear when she started to say “fine, fine. You are so mean. Do you know how much trouble did it cost me to summon it here!”
“That? I’m positive that I don’t because it has been a never for me to use summoning magic.” He paused a moment to drink from his bottle from his bag pack “So stop complaining and do it! I’m off to my dreams then!”
She clenched his teeth and kicked the floor “argh! I hate you! Why should I be a team with you in the first place! What was our leader thinking?”
She took out her flute and brought it up to her mouth. She gently laid her lips on it and rested her finger on the holes. Slowly she started blowing them in a soft gentle tune. The rhythm sometimes pitched high and slowly it decent to a soft soothing tune. Wave after wave, the flute sent out green coloured mana and slowly a magic circle form. One was right below her and the other was in front of her own magic circle.
The music continued and a wolf was brought out from the empty circle. A line of connection was slowly formed between the wolf and her. Slowly, she turned down her flute tone and so does the magic circle.
“Stay watch” she commanded the wolf.
The wolf nodded and ran off into the wild searching for a stand. With the rustling sound gone, she knows that it had found the perfect spot.

An unseen force pierced into the ground as the axe slammed the earth. A wave of destructive force flung from beneath and spiked onto the area around Veremor.

He drew mana to his finger and guided it into a circular shape. In split second, he shot the mana ball toward the spiked ground as he jumped. The explosion from the mana ball and the spiked ground added extra force to his evading thus farther he gets to better ground.

The creature contracted his arm muscle and threw an axe toward Veremor. At that instance the creature pulled out another axe beneath its skin. The handle came out first, followed by the sharp killing edge.

He stepped one foot forward letting the axe slide through his shoulder. The one steps he took looks elegant but the danger it contain is certainly near death if his judgement was wrong. He arched back a little. He concentrated his mana onto his foot and released them. As his mana clashed against the earth, it sent him flying toward the creature. By this time the creature has already pulled another axe from his body. Without wasting any time he pointed his sword at the creature and started to guide his mana toward the tips of his sword. Using the mana on the tip, he drew three circles which one is within the other. Within the circles he drew a star shape and a square shape. He started to write symbols inside the circle. All these were done in a blink of an eye which is nearly impossible.

Suddenly the creature shivered, the creature threw two of its axe at the magic circle and instinctively rolled to its left, rolling away from his magic circle. The axe reached the magic circle in a blink of an eye as the two of them were moving in high velocity from opposite direction. Veremor pulled his sword backward and thrust it toward the magic circle.

Mana Burst. The magic circle gathered mana from its surrounding as the sword drew near. By the time the sword reached the magic circle, a dense ball of mana were formed and glowing brilliantly in sky blue colour. At the moment the sword thrust through the ball a ray of mana burst in a straight line, devouring everything that dare to block its way.

Damn, let’s hope the pillars were still there! He thought.

The creature pulled out another axe and injected mana onto it before throwing it against Veremor. Veremor held his sword firmly and started a circular movement. He guided the axe around with his sword circular movement and threw it back at the creature. The creature evaded the axe. As the axe hit the ground, it exploded. The creature jumped up and started its barrel of exploding flying axe.

Shelled Ice. He let go of his sword and gathered mana to his palm. He brought his hand to front and lowered them to his abdomen. With his palm facing the ground he crossed them over. Then, he turned them up in a gently manner and make a clap. When the axes were within four meter he clapped his palms against the ground. Ice-wall grew from the ground instantly and covered him circularly like a ball. When the axes hit the ice-wall it exploded and a small layer of ice were tear off but they were regenerated back.

With this god given chance, the creature attempted to crush the ice-walled ball with its ultimate move. The creature dive down as it pulled another two axes from his body. The creature guided mana to his axes and contained them. The creature changed the element of its mana on the axes into fire element, an extremely destructive fire. With the diving force the creature has, it twisted his body and spins his axes.

The axes hit the ice-wall ball. It exploded and a surge of hellish flame rushed through the ball. The ball broke and melted away. The axes slashed down at Veremor, tearing open his chest.
